Enrollment at the Adult Center for Enrichment

When a caregiver calls the Adult Center for Enrichment to inquire about our services the staff is always willing to explain our wonderful programs to them:

Staff member and particpant greet each other.

Your First Encounter:
When you call the Adult Center for Enrichment to inquire about our services the staff is always willing to explain our wonderful programs. Many of you may have heard about us but want to know more precisely about what it is we do. The answer is always the same; we provide a safe and stimulating environment for adults with special needs. We love to share some of the great activities we do when we are together; such as, those that stimulate our physical and mental capacities: armchair aerobics, pet therapy, active games such as horse shoes, arts and crafts, field trips, musical guests, singing and dancing, gardening, volunteering in the community, and much, much more. Best of all are the new friendships made.

The Process:
At this point in the conversation you will receive information about the programs we offer as well as the locations. We suggest that you visit one or all of the locations to see the programs in action. If you are interested in enrolling your loved one based on the telephone conversation you will be asked for some general information about yourself and your loved one. Then an appointment is scheduled with the Care Manager to meet with you at the program and location of your choice.

Participants enjoying a light-hearted moment.Your Visit:
When you are coming to meet with the Care Manager we ask that your family member come to the center as well so that he/she can become familiar with our program. We feel it is important for both of you to witness our program in action to get a true feel of the inviting and engaging atmosphere we offer to our adults. While your family member is being introduced to the participants of our program, you and the Care Manager will go into another area of the center to begin the enrollment process. This process generally lasts 45 minutes to an hour during which you will provide additional information. The Program Director will meet both of you to learn as much as possible about you. The last component needed to complete the enrollment process is a Medical Examination Report to be filled out by the doctor.

Resources:
When the visit is coming to an end, you will receive an information packet containing much of what was discussed during the visit because we know what an overload care giving can be and we want to make this process as smooth as possible. We pride ourselves in providing the kind of quality program to keep you wanting to keep coming back.
